Harriet Smith, 18, hopes to get into the fashion industry when she is older so she’s out looking for inspiration and ideas. Today, the stylish student from Nottingham is wearing a red chequered coat from River Island, a black top from Zara, black jeans with a leopard-print belt, a Mulberry satchel bag, and Topshop boots.

Luca Rimaldi’s sleek style is made up of a black jacket from H & M, trousers from Zara, a black jumper and some black canvas shoes, also from H & M, topped off with some tinted shades. His friends claim that the 19-year-old is the Italian lookalike of Zayn Malik from One Direction.

Virginia Babero, 21, who works in an Italian restaurant, borrowed her chequered jacket from a friend. She wears it with a yellow jumper from H & M and some baggy jeans, along with some chunky red shoes from Amazon, fun dinosaur socks from ASOS and some shades she picked up in Sardinia.

Huma Haque, 24, from east London, said she decided to wrap up warm: “The last four days I’ve been caught out in the cold as the sunshine is very misleading… my style? It’s all about the comfort.” She is wearing high-waisted jeans from Topshop, black pumps from H & M, a white jumper from Forever 21 and a rather stylish coat with leather sleeves, also from H & M.

Katy Hicks, 18, a student from Nottingham, has come to London for a day of shopping in a blue Versace shirt, black ASOS jeans, River Island boots and a hat that she bought on eBay, sent over from China. Katy said she prefers the minimalistic look with one statement piece, such as today’s print shirt.

Gemma Sharpe wears a ‘comfortable’ pink, floor-length dress from a shop in Camden, sandals from New Look, a black cardigan and a pair of shades. The 23-year-old from Northamptonshire said: “Most of my clothes actually come from Camden,” and explained that while she currently sells generators for a living, her passion lies in urban photography and she often comes to town to capture the scenery.
